ABOUT THE LEEWARD YACHT CLUB.
Leeward Yacht Club is a historical revival community on Green Turtle Cay, Abaco, Bahamas. The neighbourhood is being built and designed as a revival of Green Turtle Cay’s own town of New Plymouth. The town was founded in the late 1700’s by British Empire Loyalists leaving the new United States of America. Ancestors of these same settlers later migrated to Key West with their disassembled homes on sailing vessels, making the new island a sister city to New Plymouth on Green Turtle Cay. Leeward Yacht Club is a beautiful revival of this old world architecture.
The Abacos:
The Cays of the Abacos are a true recreation and sportsman’s paradise. When it’s time to go game fishing, lobstering, hunting, conch diving, deep sea diving, snorkeling, surfing or sun-bathing, the Abacos are hard to match. Green Turtle Cay is equipped with full service marinas, charter boats, tackle shops, boat rentals and a full service dive shop with dive boats and guides. Beautiful Black Sound also provides a class “A” shipyard with dry dockage and a full size lift for any vessel’s needs.
